In this post, I will be talking about how you can fill Amazon US affiliate tax information being an Indian or non-US resident.

Recently, when I was reviewing my payment, I found there is a huge gap between what Amazon has sent me and what I received in Payoneer. And then I found Amazon has deducted 30% as a tax from my payment.

Here is the recent screenshot where Amazon sent me a payment of $330.98.

Yes, I received just $231.69 which is just 70% and after doing some R&D I found Amazon has charged 30% as tax.

You must have filled the tax form in your Amazon affiliate account. This is a mandatory form for everyone to receive the payment. So, if you have not filled the form correctly there are high chances that you will be in the 30% tax slab by Amazon US.

Let's start and just by using some simple steps I will show you how to fill Amazon US affiliate tax information being an Indian affiliate or Non-US resident.

Step-1:

Log in to your Amazon US affiliate account

Step-2:

Open account settings just by hovering over your email id.

Step-3:

You will get a new screen where click on change tax information which will take you to a new page where click on take tax interview.

Step-4

In this tax interview form, there will be several questions and here I am highlighting some important questions.

There will be a question like, for U.S. tax purposes, are you a U.S. person?

If you are from India or outside the US, select No, else select Yes.

Step-5:

Type of beneficial owner:

Select individual here

Country Of Citizenship

Select India if you're from India else your country name

Full Name

Just enter your full name

Fill your permanent address:

Enter your permanent address and also select mailing address the same as a permanent address if you have else entered the new one.

Are you an agent acting as an intermediary?

Location of Services Performed

This question is important and decides majorly your tax slab. Make sure to select-

All services are performed outside the U.S.

U.S. person tests – individuals

Here leave all blank

Tax Identification Number (TIN)

Select the following checkbox-

I do not have a U.S. TIN or a foreign (non-U.S.) income tax identification number and then enter your country tax number. You can fill your PAN number if you're from India.

And that's all!

Just click save and continue. There a summary of what you have filled and selected will be shown to you. Click on save and continue and move to the next screen.

Step-6:

Consent to electronic delivery of Form 1042-S

Enter your full name as a signature

Form 1042-S delivery preference

Go paperless here by selecting the first radio button

They may ask you a few more details on consent, just select all and submit.

Last Step:

Yes, you're done now with the Tax interview.

Just submit the final form and you will be shown your tax slab and it will show you 0% if you have filled correctly.

Last week I was working with one client from Bulgaria and I didn’t check whether PayPal works for them or not. I completed the agreed work and sent the invoice for payment.

But received shocking news that PayPal doesn’t work there and he told me he can do payment through Perfect Money. This was the first time I heard about Perfect Money. I calmly asked my client whether he can choose any other option or list the options available for payment and he listed few as below and the interesting thing was, I was not having an account with any of those.

• Perfect money
• WebMoney
• Yandex money
• Bank transaction (in their country)

Then I requested him for some time and he was fair enough to accept that. Then I started searching for the methods as how I can receive payment through perfect money?

I posted this query on Facebook and one gentleman helped me and he explained the process and yeah, sent me his affiliate link for signup so that he can receive some affiliate commission (this is a good idea).

Although client gave 3-4 network to get the payment but Perfect Money seemed to best among all and I finally went with them and completed the process.

Before letting you know how you can receive payment through perfect money, let me tell you that the entire process is very costly and you should only go with it if you don’t have any other options like PayPal, Payoneer etc.

This is the first step to perfect money to PayPal processing. Creating account with Perfect money is a very easy task and can be done in a couple of minutes, but one thing I want to share here is, don’t ever use FAKE details as it may cause an issue.

Also, here we are trying to get money in PayPal from Perfect Money but if you want to get in Bank Account then you will have to do perfect money account verification which is not possible without real proofs.

To create Perfect Money account, just follow the below steps and get your perfect money account active.

1. Visit this link and fill the required details. The fields are self-descriptive and you won’t have any issue filling out.

2. Select Individual and accept the T&C at the bottom of the form and click on Register Button.

3. You will receive an email asking to verify the account. Please do so by clicking the link.

4. Now if you want to verify your account, you will have to complete 3 verification work-

• Name Verification- Can be done by uploading any your identity card. I gave my PAN card

• Address Verification- Can be done by uploading any utility bill like Gas/phone/water etc. I was not having on my name so I didn’t have address verified account. But don’t worry; it won’t affect our aim here.

• Contact Number- This will be done only if first two are verified

5. Now proceed to your account and there you will find there three account number in different currencies like below-

6. The one with a $ sign is your account is your account number and will be used to receive payment from your client. Just send this account number starting with U to your client and ask to send the payment to your Perfect Money Account.

7. I did the same and received my payment. But this is not done yet. You have just received the payment but it will not available for withdrawal until you will accept it. This can be done just by clicking the link shown at the end of payment received.

8. Just click the link and it will ask for a confirmation code (your client will send you this code). Enter it and done with Perfect Money work.

Now as you have your money in Perfect Money account, it’s time to get in PayPal account. For this, I took help of Rchange.

Create account with Rchange

Creating account with Rchange is also a very easy task and you just need to follow below steps-

• Register with them using this link
• Now add your PayPal email id with them
• Once done, it’s time to transfer the payment. Click on this link and select Perfect Money to PayPal

• Here you will have to select the PayPal Id where you want payment and connect with your Perfect Monet account.

• Select your Perfect Money account number where money is and authorize account.

• Here you will have to select the amount you are willing to withdraw. Perfect Money charges 1.99% as the processing fee and so do the calculation. I had $74 and so I choose $73.5 for withdrawal.

• Just click TRANSFER and done. You will see a row in your Rchange account that they have received the payment and it is under processing.

• Here again, Rchange will deduct your $2.5 as a processing fee and I received $71.5 in Rchange account.

• Now after some time, you will get the money transferred to your PayPal account and you will receive a confirmation email for the same.

• Again PayPal will deduct their fee (around 5%) and so finally I received around $68 for an amount of $75.

So in the whole process, networks deducted around 9.2% of the amount but yeah I received my payment and it was a great learning experience as I came to know about different other Payment and Exchanger networks.

From here I am sure you know how PayPal works and when you will get your money credited to your bank account.

This is my own story on Affiliate Sale which gave me a lot of confidence last month. This gave me a good reason to think blogging as a full-time career option. Yes, it was my first affiliate sale and after few days my second affiliate sale. These two Affiliate sales made me $100 in just a couple of days. I know this is not much but to give a start it was a decent income.

As a beginner, I was using only AdSense and my own services like web development and support. But as we know if we don't have a good amount of traffic, AdSense will not give you a decent amount and so I was searching for other means of income and here it came. Let me tell you my story behind this.

I think it was somewhere on November'14 when I was reading a blog post and found Hostgator Affiliate gives a very good commission on the sale and I registered for the Hostgator Affiliate program. But I didn't use my link anywhere for a month.

How I wrote the post

One day (15th Dec.) I was checking my email and found Hostgator is providing Holiday Dash sale at 75% discount. I thought about this and found a single hosting will be available just at $1.24 and decided to write a post. This offer was in couple of slots for few hours and a first slot was already started. So quickly I started writing on it.

It didn't take much of my time as earlier I used HostGator Hosting for one of my client and so I knew this hosting very well. It took around couple of hours to write a short review about HostGator and explaining the offer. This was the first time I was trying for an affiliate program and sale.

So within couple of hours, my post was live and I did well on page SEO so that the ranking can improve a bit.

I logged to Facebook and found there were more than 50 people promoting this offer already and then I decided not to waste time on ranking the article and was searching for the other way for sale.

How I promoted the offer

After looking at the social media I realized some big blogs are already ranking for this offer and within a short span of time, it was almost impossible me to rank mine. And so I thought of other means of promotion.

I targeted Social Media for the promotion first and so posted on facebook, facebook groups, Google+ and Google+ groups. Believe me friends; Google+ groups are a great source of traffic as well as leads too.

So finally I was having around hundreds of traffic on that post but no sale. I was worrying about the sale and finally I targeted few more options of promotion.

I reached out to the forums where I am active and posted the link in my signature and on few answers too where ever I found relevant. I repeated this for good number of times, few in signature and other in relevant answers and this gave me good amount of traffic.

How I made first sale

The forum posting worked for me and I got my first sale. Yes as I talked before also, forum is a great place of promotion, this give good amount of traffic as well as leads.

Forums have always helped me. I remember the time when I was handling one lead generation project for one of my Delhi based client from Law niche. My SEO guy was on leave and leads were decreasing and it was around the month end and so to get payment we had to complete the target. So after some digging on the net I found forums and great news was within 3-4 days, we completed the target well in advance.

How I Made Second Sale

Yes again this was from Hostgator itself and again Holiday Dash with 75% off :) On 22nd December I again found this great offer by Hostgator in my Inbox and this time I didn't worked more and just edited my older post and changed the date and time accordingly. Then by using the sticky post option took this post on the top of the home page and promoted using the same strategy.

I also mailed to the guy who made my first sale and told that the offer is again live and if you need, you can grab the offer again. No doubt this didn't make a sale as he needed only one but this gave me a loyal reader and he is now a regular visitor of TricksRoad. So maintaining a good relationship is also a crucial point in online business. I am not expert but whatever I have read during this short time, this is what pro bloggers says.

Within couple of hours I made the sale but unfortunately that was declined as that was not the valid sale. But later on, again I made the second valid sale and earned my second $50.

So in total, few hours of my work made $100 in just couple of days. This was my first and second affiliate sales.

How to Make Sale

With my experience below is what I learnt-

• Sale only those items which you have already used or likely to use and have good knowledge, so that you can solve the query, if asked by any user.
• Take buyers in confidence. Of course you have to do this through the post that you've written. So write a good review.
• Give a valid reason to buy through your link.
• Give some extra spice so that visitors will have a good reason to buy.
• Maintain good reputations with your previous buyers and readers.

What I offered

No doubt, I simply promoted the offers provided by the company but I gave some extra spice too. As you can see in the below image, I gave many other benefits to the buyers to buy from my affiliate link. This gave a positive impression to the buyers.

As a blogger, the above offers will not cost you much and you can easily fulfill these. Many bloggers have already written a good posts on all the above points and just you can give the links and can ask to reach out to you in case of any confusion.

But this means a lot for the newbie bloggers. So try to offer what you can.

What you should not Do

There are many ways to make to make affiliate sale but I would suggest you not to cheat your visitors and buyers. Promote only those products which you've already used. Also while writing the reviews, write your experience not what company says on their site.
