6. Creating content for the blog

8. Off-Page SEO
9. Blog/Content Promotion
10. Generating Money from the blog

I will be basically taking care of all the above 10 points in this how to start a WordPress blog from scratch guide.

Let’s start with each module in detail and start a WordPress blog from scratch.

How to start a WordPress blog from scratch- The Only Guide you need

Our main aim is not just to get you started but also to show you how to earn from the blog. This massive guide on how to start a WordPress blog from scratch will give you all the insights of starting blogging.

Platform Selection

Well, as I mentioned earlier, there are lots of blogging platforms available like WordPress.org, WordPress.com, Blogger, Drupal, etc. and all are doing good. The thing is where WordPress.org (self-hosted WordPress) has a greater market share, Drupal or others have very little.

From the below pie chart you can check that over 52% market as a blogging platform is captured by WordPress.org followed by custom blogs, Bloggers, and others.

Blogging Platforms
So, I will also suggest you go through a self-hosted WordPress blog (WordPress.org). There are multiple benefits to it. Although it is a bit costlier but will add a flavor.

The blog you are reading is on Blogger and I face issues while customizing. That is the reason all my other blogs are on self-hosted WordPress.

Even though you don’t need hosting while starting a blog with Blogger but apart from that everything will be the same. But when you will start using it you’ll find a lot of differences. Let me list a few of those here.

1. The customization is very hard in Blogger and you can’t do all the customization you want.

2. There is no concept of landing pages in Blogger inside a blog. If you want to remove the sidebar from blogger, you can do it but that will be for pages or the whole blog, not the post.

3. There is always a risk that Google may delete your blog without any prior warning and all your work will be lost.

4. You can’t play with the blogging tools as there are not many add-ons available for bloggers. Whereas for WordPress 46k+ plugins are available.

After going through all these points, I am sure you must have decided to go with WordPress.org (self-hosted).

Again, if you want to compare wordpress.com and wordpress.org, wordpress.org will be leading. You can check the below comparison between both.

Difference between wordpress.com and .org
So far, the blogging platform has been selected. Now it’s time to work on the niche in which you will be blogging.

Blogging Niche Selection

I have written a detailed blog post on this topic- 10 best blogging niches to get started!

You can check that blog post for a detailed understanding of the blogging niches. Also, I have seen some people discussing whether they should start a single niche site or a multi-niche site.

Here are my view and detailed analysis of it- single niche vs. multi-niche blog

It is always advisable to start working on the niche which is of your interest. Also, don’t go simply by checking the CPC of keywords. Some people find few keywords having CPC USD 100+ (e.g. Mesothelioma) and start working on it and end up getting nothing.

Domain Name Selection

The domain name is also one of the important factors in blogging. Your domain name should be easily readable and should not contain any name violating the trademark.

You should follow our articles on the domain name- How to select a domain name and cheap domain name registrar in the world.

Here are some of the best practices for domain name selection-

1. Choose a name that is relevant to your website
2. Keep it short
3. Should be easily pronounceable and memorable
4. Avoid using numbers, hyphens, etc. in the name
5. Should not have trademark names (like Google)
6. Prefer the TLDs like .com/.net/.org

You should know these things before starting any blog and I am sure after finishing this post, you can answer all these questions.

Choose reliable hosting

Once you’re done with the above steps to start a WordPress blog from scratch, it’s time to work on hosting.

Hosting is one of the most important parts of the website life cycle. Your hosting must have the following qualities.

1. High quality and fast processing server
2. 24x7 dedicated support- especially the technical support
3. Should be cost-effective
4. Must have high uptime to ensure your site is up every time
5. The company should take backup regularly and provide the copy/restore when required
6. Should be interactive and can accommodate the third-party apps

After going through all these features, you may shortlist few hosting provider companies and go ahead with them.

I personally support BlueHost for WordPress hosting. There are many reasons behind this including the fact that BlueHost is the officially recommended hosting from WordPress.

8 Smart Tips for Starting A Small Business

By Ashutosh Jha → Tuesday, July 5, 2022
Starting up your enterprise is usually a learn-as-you-go process. And with the shrewder decisions you make at the beginning, the higher the chances your business has to succeed.

If you’re a new businessman, you may start with a small business. And if you’re planning to start a small business, these starting small business tips will help you start a profitable business. Once you have started the business, later you can work on it and make the business profitable.

8 Smart Tips for Starting A Small Business
There are many profitable niches in which you can start a business. You can follow this guide for the most profitable niches to get started.

Best Tips for Starting a Small Business

You can try using the following 8 tips if you feel you have an entrepreneurial spirit. Give some time to your business and see it making new heights every day.

1. Absorb everything

Start-up business investors Max Funding say, “Always be a sponge when it comes to matters concerning your entrepreneurial objectives.” They suggest, “press your listeners to provide an honest opinion of what they think. The views you get collectively from your peers can act as a reflection of how the market will react. “

Don’t shrug off advice coming from veteran business owners and experts. These guys know what will and what won’t work first-hand. Shrewd entrepreneurs make a point of learning from the mistakes others in the field have made.

2. Address excuses

The truth is that being an entrepreneur is pretty scary. In most instances, greenhorn business owners stand to lose a lot with little to no insight as to whether they will succeed. It’s only natural to worry about the risks that come with owning a business. However, excuses will merely be mitigating you from achieving your goals. If you’re serious about starting up a business, then you need to look over some of the reasons you think you can’t and discard them from your thought process. Find a fix for the problem instead of letting it hold you back.

3. Please keep it simple

As a novice business owner, try starting small and narrowing down your focus. Learn how to best evaluate your business concept. Come up with a simple, quality good or service. An ideal business should meet promises made to consumers as well as exceed expectations.

Cut down on unnecessary things watering down your offerings and are costing you money. If your business is just starting up, you don’t require all the whistles and bells like a giant corporation. It will be much easier adding to your business as it continues to grow.

4. Count the costs

When you begin formulating your business idea, adding up how much it costs is crucial. To launch and operate, you will have to factor in the necessary business expenses. Other costs to bear in mind include rent, location, marketing, supplies, and more.

Once you get a hold of all of your expenses, begin making a business budget. First, you may need to get outside capital to help in making ends meet, such as a small business loan. Before placing your money in a startup, consider all your options.

5. Earn while you build

If you are thinking about starting up a small business, don’t think about quitting your day job just yet. Establishing a successful business venture is a process. Take the stage to build up your business as you transition slowly from employee to entrepreneur.

It will take a while to earn a steady income as an up-and-coming business owner. Hold on to your nine-to-five job, and during your off hours/days, work on your business. This will assist in drawing in some interest during the difficult first stages. Once you have sustained a healthy cash inflow from your business, that’s when you can quit and start focusing on your business full time.

6. Speak up about your business

Not knowing how to sell is one major challenge the majority of business owners face. When you’re new at this business thing, it can be overseeing sharing your ideas with the rest of the world. Don’t worry about what other people may think concerning your business. It can be challenging to make money in the event you are unable to convince consumers to buy products from you and help support your business. So if you’re not outgoing, you will have to fake it until you make it. You really can’t afford to be shy if you want your business to succeed.

7. Understand the legal requirements for establishing a small business

Starting up a new business can be exciting. Laws, on the other hand, are not. You are required to understand the regulations that come with starting a new business. You stand a chance of facing steep penalties by not following government guidelines and regulations. You will be required to follow the rules in an array of things from the accounting system to the legal structure. Other responsibilities include taking care of business-specific tax liabilities, registering your business with the state, and hiring workers following employer laws.

8. Have an equal amount of passion and wisdom

Passion will help you in moving forward, but having the information will steer you in the right direction. Learn about the potential of your business, research the market, and talk to your target audience. Contact professionals that can assist you with other parts of the company, like lawyers and financial advisors.

As your business begins coming together, let your passion and mind drive you forward. Apart from all of these, having a space and a suitable space is very much required for the business. You may rent an apartment or a co-working space as well. If you are staring in New Jersey, I would recommend checking jersey city apartments for rent for a great deal.

Why Do You Need A Company Incorporation Service

By Ashutosh Jha → Tuesday, September 22, 2020
Thinking of a perfect place to put up a business? If you haven’t thought about Singapore, maybe it is time that you consider it. There is a lot of opportunities to succeed in Singapore hence entrepreneurs are highly recommended to invest in this country.

Advantages Of Hiring A Company Incorporate Service

There are a lot of advantages in hiring a company to incorporate service, and to name some of them, read below:

To focus more on your business

There are just a lot of requirements to start a business not only in Singapore but in other countries too. Having an incorporation service can let you leave the hard labor to the professionals and allow you to focus on other important matters in your business such as improving your product, marketing your business, training your employees, etc.

Hiring someone to manage the requirements to start up a business is without a doubt a good idea.

To set up your business quickly

With the many requirements needed to furnish, it will take a lot of time before you can actually start up a business. With the help of a company incorporation service, you are assured that all the needed requirements will be completed the soonest time possible.

Also, these people have a strong connection with the right individuals and companies so processing of requirements will be done faster.

The earlier you can start your business, the better.

To ensure zero compliance default

They are the experts and with this, you are assured that you are always 100% compliant in terms of the requirements set by the country you plan to set up your business. This is hard to achieve especially if you are living outside the country or you just flew in Singapore recently.

Why would you take the risk if there is actually a way for you to be 100% compliant? Hiring professionals will ensure that everything will work towards your requirements.

Questions To Ask A Company Incorporation Service

Before you finally hire service from any company, it is best if you ask questions first. Asking questions can help you get the service you expect.

To help you get started, below are a few questions to ask a company you are planning to hire:

Available packages

What are the available packages do they offer? Getting a package is recommended as this is where you can get better rates. You have to make sure that everything you need is included in the package you will get.

Some of the things that you might need to be included in your package are a registered business address that is located in a prestigious location, a company secretary, and opening of bank account consultation and arrangement.

The package inclusion is dependent on whether you are situated locally or outside the country. Make sure that the package is complete and includes everything that you need to operate your business smoothly.

Customer service

Another important question to ask is the availability of their customer service support team. Customer service is critical especially for businesses that are operated remotely. It is necessary that you know the available numbers you can call, the email address you can send your email to, the availability of chat services, and also the social media account you can use to reach them.

Apart from this information, you may also like to know their availability. What time can you call their customer service team? If you are living outside the country, make sure that they cater to your hours. Choosing a company that is available to render their service and answer your queries 24 hours a day, 7 days a week is a good idea.

Contact person

Make sure that they will assign a contact person you can call and contact if you have questions about their service. Especially if you are living outside the country, you want someone to call in case you have questions. Continuity of information and business is best done if you are transacting business only with one person.

You have to be open with your contact person as he or she will represent you.

Prices

Another important question you have to know more about is the prices of their packages. Even how good the service they provide, if you cannot afford their service, it is useless to know more about them.

Asking the prices of their package is a good way to measure whether you can hire their service or you need to look somewhere else. Knowing the prices of their services will help you gauge which company offers the best service at the right price.

The cost of the service is just secondary to the quality of service yet, needless to say, making sure that you can afford their service is a must.

What is Dynamic Pricing and How Does it Work?

By Ashutosh Jha → Monday, March 16, 2020
Dynamic pricing is a system whereby prices are flexible to allow changes according to market forces, and data is gathered about competitor pricing, supply & demand and other external aspects of the market.

What is Dynamic Pricing and How Does it Work?
Many e-commerce businesses make good use of dynamic pricing, as this ensures that you are never overpriced, and with online consumers, it is very easy for them to find a cheaper supplier, if there is one.

Specialist Software Applications

If you check out the competitor price monitoring software UK companies are offering, you will see the powerful tools that this software brings to the table. Tools that allow you to compare prices, check for product availability and even collate data on customer reviews, can all give you an essential edge over your competition, and if you would like to learn more about this type of software, all it takes is a Google search.

Comprehensive Technical Support

If you are worried that your level of IT expertise is inadequate, the software developer walks you through the set-up process, which only takes a few minutes, and with an easy-to-use interface, you can quickly configure the system to do what you want it to.

Boost Revenue

You can increase your gross revenue by as much as 20% if you make good use of price tracking software, which is very easy to install and configure. With 24/7 technical support, you will never have any problems keeping an eye on your competitors.

Automatic Price Matching

If you are selling brand name products, you can either set the program to check automatically, or you can manually carry out the task. Pasting competitors’ URLs into the program will allow you to keep track of their prices and other aspects of their services. In these highly competitive times, it is important to find ways of keeping ahead of your business rivals, and a program that checks and compares product prices will allow you to take advantage by lowering your prices just enough to tempt the consumer.

Monitoring Resellers

If you run a wholesale business and you want to keep track of how much your customers are charging for your products, the price tracking software can easily accomplish this task. If you want to check the Minimum Advertised Price (MAP), price tracking software allows you to:

  • Ensure that your products are sold at the right price
  • Receive daily reports
  • Monitor Google Shopping and Amazon
  • Check all countries and currencies

Online Solutions

If you are interested in using a price tracker, but are wondering what the next step would be, all it takes is a Google search to locate the right software developer, who would be happy to give you a free demo of their product. Many small business owners mistakenly think that using such software requires you to be IT proficient, yet the program is very easy to use, plus you have full round the clock support.

If you wish to gain an edge over your competitors, you should talk to a software developer who offers a price tracking program and the many powerful tools will allow you to check and compare what your rivals are offering.

Let me show you one example for better understanding. Like in 2014, one dollar was somewhere around 60 INR. If you could have bought 1000 dollars which have coasted you around 60k INR.

Currently, one dollar costs around 63 INR so if you have decided to sell those dollars, it's value will be 63k INR. So your profit is 3k INR. This is just an example.

The Marketer who does Forex trading keeps on finding the profitable market and currency and they easily earn $5k-$10k a month. Now let's get back to the point whether we should consider this as a blogging niche or not?

Forex trading is also good to start with but again this is a bit difficult to rank like Insurance due to huge competition. But if you are able to do so for a couple of keywords, you can easily earn a lot as the CPC for these keywords is quite high.

Also, you can get lots of advertisements and Sponsored post on such niche. So if you are all set to work hard, this is the niche for you.

8. Website Design, Domain & Hosting

To start any online business, you need primarily three things-

1. Web Design- This can be either hard coded or themes or customized themes.

2. A Domain Name- You can buy a domain name even for $0.99 or if you want to start with free, get a subdomain on BlogSpot/WordPress.

3. Hosting: To host a website/blog, you need space and hosting provide that space. You can even start with free hosting on Blogger/Wordpress.com

Now you can start a blog on this niche. But as this is a very big niche so you can take any sub-niche from it and can start. Few of those sub-niches may be
  • Website Design Tutorials
  • How to buy a good domain name/how to find expired domain etc.
  • Best Hosting for websites/Best WordPress hosting etc.

These are some of the sub-niches in this niche and are highly profitable. But here I would like to suggest you is, if you are ranking for this niche, don't use AdSense.

Because if you are getting clicks on the ad, you will earn somewhere around $0.5-$1.0, which is not much for a niche like hosting. Better use affiliate marketing here. Select any hosting company, Hostgator, BlueHost etc. and promote their offer.

If you are making any sell, you will earn at least $50 per sale, which 50-100 times of an AdSense click.

9. Social Media

You will agree with me here! Social media has become the need of one's life. Right? Yes. Daily Billions of people access the different social network all across the globe.

So, now I am sure you can judge the potential of this super niche. This is a vast niche and you can target one or two social platforms and can start a blog. Like you can target Facebook, G+, Twitter, LinkedIn, Reddit etc and can start a blog where you can post the details about these social platforms. The details may include (considering example of Facebook)
  • How to best use Facebook
  • How to promote your business through Facebook Free
  • How to do paid advertisement through Facebook.
  • How to earn from Facebook
  • How to use Facebook API on blogs/websites
  • How to make post viral on Facebook
  • Tips and Tricks related to Facebook etc.
These are the kind of contents that you can post on such blogs. Again there are different ways to earn from these kinds of blogs like AdSense, Sponsored Posts, CPA Networks etc.

10. Listen to your Heart

Last but not the least. In fact the most important one! Listen to your heart. Because if anything is done from your heart, that must get success. Decide which is that area where you are good and start on that. No niche is bad. If work properly, every niche can earn good amount of money. Let me tell you how you can select a niche from your interest.

Take a pen and paper and write down all the area which you like. This may include Entertainment, cricket, game etc. I am sure you will write 5-10 topics. Now think which is the area among all which will not bore you even if you will be with it for a whole day. I am sure you eliminate 3-4.

So, almost you are having 4-5 now. Now make a column for all 4-5 topics remaining and start writing the blog post topics, plans etc. And by the end of this select the area where you found the majority number of ideas.

By this way, you can select the niche which you really like and this will go forever. You will never get bored of it and easily success will come to you.

What about you?

These are the 10 most profitable niches to start blogging as per me. You may differ with me but I would love to know your opinion. Please do let me know which niche you think is most profitable?

7 Things Which Are Stopping You to Continue Blogging

By Ashutosh Jha → Sunday, May 20, 2018
Blogging has become a business now and people earn many multiples of regular income in blogging. If you are frequent to social media, you must be seeing so many success stories people write about the success like they earn $10k/$20k per months. That’s true. But you will hardly find any stories of failure. No doubt the online industry has full of potential and money but it’s not that easy.

Many people who are not in online marketing/industry might be thinking what these guys do with just a laptop. But earning online is that easy? No.

In 2013, there were more than 152 Millions of Blogs online which is growing rapidly. But are all successful? No because there are something which stops those bloggers and so they are not. When it comes to successful bloggers there are hardly few..maybe thousands. You can check an interesting Infographic shared by BWHGeek on blogs.

Blogging Statistics Blogging is a platform which people choose to express their feeling and once they attract visitors, it starts making money. There are n number of examples where people from completely different professions have come to blogging and have done extraordinary.

But at the same time there are huge numbers who got failed. It’s not that people don’t want to or don’t try but there is something which stops them to peruse further. Today I will talk about the top 7 reasons those stop you to continue blogging.

Top 7 Reasons – Those stop you to Continue Blogging

1. You don’t have interest anymore

why bloggers fail
This is the main reason why bloggers leave blogging. It has been seen that majority of bloggers leave blogging as don’t find interest anymore.

And if you don’t have interest, you can’t do that thing. So now what? What should you do to make interest? Below are few points which you should consider-

• Blog only on the topic which you like
• Blog to the niche which admire you.
• Don’t simply blog! Do it passionately.
• Start selling from first day itself. Once money will come automatically you will find a reason to continue :)

2. Don’t find an Idea to Write

why bloggers fail
Again the same thing as above. If you don’t have enough knowledge and passion on some particular topic you can’t blog for more time. No doubt you can write 20-30 posts but what after that? So to overcome on this, you may follow the below-

• Blog only on those niches which you like and admire you.
• Suppose you like entertainment niche but don’t find enough earning (which is not the case) then you can start a blog on profitable niche but hire someone to write the content for that as that’s not your expertise.
• Participate on forums to get an idea about topic. You may write on the questions people ask. What can be better than that?
• Ask your followers about which topic they want you to write etc.

3. Your Younger bloggers are doing better than you

This is human tendency to keep checking others. You may find many bloggers who are younger than you but are doing better. You may feel shame in front of them and get depressed. When I started blogging last year found there are many bloggers who are making thousands and are just in schools/colleges and I was college pass out. But I took that positively and thought if they why I can’t?

You should also remove such thoughts that your youngers are performing better. Take this in a positive way as if they can do why you can’t. They might be working harder than you and so you should too.

4. Google Doesn’t Like you

why bloggers fail
I am mentioning Google here as Google has highest market share compare to other search engines. More than 70% of searches are done on Google. You can find the statistics below about the search engine market share-

Google - 70.23%
Bing 10.33%
Yahoo - 9.54%
Baidu- 7.06%
AOL - 1.11%
Ask - 0.19%
Lycos - 0.02%
Excite - 0.00%

So if your blog is performing well in Google means you are 90% successful and just you need to convert that traffic further to make sell.

To remove the spams and low quality contents, Google keep on bringing updates which gives benefits to good quality blogs where as low quality blogs get penalized. There may be several reason of this –

• You may be writing copied content
• Your content quality id very poor
• You don’t provide quality to the users
• Your SEO strategy is incorrect and many more

But remember one thing here- Goggle doesn’t bring updates (panda, penguin etc) to harm blogs rather they save themselves. Suppose spammers take their blogs at high ranking but doesn’t provide quality and when you search anything you visit that blog which doesn’t have quality at all and this is coming repeatedly..then whether you will search that term again in Google? May be not as you may think Google is not displaying good result and the business of Google will go down.

So to protect themselves and to maintain quality Google brings updates. You should blog in a way that should be to solve the issue of needy person as well as search engine friendly also. Got my point?

5. Drop in Your Earning

why bloggers fail
Money is the top most motivational factor..agree?

When I started this blog in around Nov’14, I didn’t earn a single penny since Feb’15. My first earning was $35 through a sponsored post. Since that time I am growing. But it’s not that my earning has only increased. It has down graph as well but this doesn’t mean I will get demotivated.

How to do Website Flipping- How I Sold a New Blog for $400

By Ashutosh Jha → Thursday, January 4, 2018
This How to do Website Flipping post is a guest post by Abhishek, a website flipper, Blogger and Internet Marketer. If you also want to write guest post at TricksRoad, Please check this.

Making money online was like a big scam for me initially and I was avoiding this. One day i was reading a blog post about website flipping and thought to give a try.

I was not having much money to buy a blog that time and sell it after modification so thought to start a blog. This is my story of making a simple blog and selling it in $400 in just 2 month.

I will try to make you understand each and every step I followed and you can do the same to earn money online. It took me couple of months but I can say this for sure that now I can make such blogs in a month also.

how to website flipping

So, if you are an experience blogger then it will be easy for you to do so but if you are new then also you can do the same. The only difference is just you will take some extra time like me but you will earn for sure.

So let's start with the exactly path that I did from scratch. I am sure this guide on How to do website flipping will help you in your journey.

How I sold a 2 months old blog for $400: A Complete Guide on Website Flipping

These are exactly the same methods that I followed some time ago and still following almost same. You can also follow these methods and get success. Follow these footprints and get success in website flipping. So lets start with Website Flipping secrets.

1. Niche Selection

This was most confusing and hard task for me. I was quite confused while niche selection. First I was thinking to start an entertainment blog as those are easy to build but as my main aim was to earn money from selling it so I dropped that idea. Then the second priority was technical blog for me and as this is a global topic so chances are there to get good profit.

Also Read: Top 10 Most Profitable Niche to Start Blogging

Since technology is a large domain and one of the most competitive so I selected just a small niche from technology domain and started working on it. The niche that I selected was related to Windows operating system. I was providing tips and tricks for Windows OS and also was writing blog posts to solve issues related to windows like how to install it, how to boot it like this. To decide the niche and topics, I took around 5 days.

2. Domain Name Selection

The next step was to select a good domain name for the site and finally I decided to go with EMD (exact matched domain) as this helps a lot in ranking as the main keyword/part of it is already the domain name. Sorry, I can't disclose the name but it was a three word name and was quite good. It was a .com domain as top level domains get more preference and also, people have the tendency to use .com as a default address.

3. Theme Selection and Hosting

Again I was on the verge where I had to decide whether I should go with rich WordPress or easy Blogger. Since my main aim was to sell the blog and so i decided to go with WordPress and bought a single WordPress Godaddy Hosting. It is best in less range for a single website. You can also check BlueHost for best hosting.

Also Read: How to Choose an Effective Template for your Blog

Note: Don't worry if you don't want to spend on hosting and want to use Blogger then also you are good to go. Usually you'll not find buyers for a blog which is hosted on Blogger platform and if you'll find also the price that you'll find will be less. I have sold one blog in initial days which was on Blogger :) but as said got very little money.

Then I selected a very basic theme. Actually it was a premium theme but got free from one of the website. So brand new blog was live in a week (I know I took more time and you can do this all in a day as well.) But later I boost up my selves and did the other thing fast.

4. Creating Pages and Initial Articles

Right after the blog was live; I created the basic pages like About Us, Contact, Privacy etc. and also published couple of articles of around 800 words each. This helped in initial crawling before submitting to the directories as some directory manually analyzes your site before approving.

5. Submitting Site to Search Engines and Directory

This is the first step towards traffic. I manually enter the site into all the major search engines like Google, yahoo, Bing, ask and few more. Also I submitted manually in an around 50 high PR directory to improve the ranking of my blog.

Also Check: 200+ High PR Web 2.0 Sites List

I would suggest you to submit in more as some of those may not approve you or many take more time like a month or even more to approve. So the more you will target the better result you'll get.

6. Number and Quality of articles I published

My targeted was to publish 2 articles (guide/tips/tricks) each week and 2 how to resolve article each week. So total 4 articles a week. I was writing tips & tricks articles of around 700-800 words and How to resolve article depending on the issues. I was including screenshots and videos wherever required.

So in couple of months I was having around 30 articles and all were highly targeted to the niche.

7. How I got Initial Traffic

As my domain was a brand new domain and so getting traffic directly from search engine was not possible. So I worked on social medias and blog commenting. I was mainly targeting Facebook, Google+, Twitter and Stumble Upon. These are awesome social sites for the traffic.

Also Read: 5 Ways to Generate Traffic without SEO or Social Media

Try to post in different groups on Facebook and Google+ manually but if you don't have time use HootSuite. It's awesome tool to schedule your post on social media. Even the free version of Hootsuite allows you to post on 3 social media sites.

The most important thing to get more traffic is to engage the people. If somebody liked your post, don't forget to thank them and try to involve in conversation.

Also, I worked simultaneously on On-Page SEO, Off-Page SEO and started getting traffic.

8. I made around 1500+ email lists in just 1.5 Months

Yes! That's correct. I added the subscription box after around 15 days since the time my blog was live. But you should not make this mistake. Try to build email list from the first day itself. This will help you to increase traffic and also will help you to earn money.

how to grow email list

1500+ email id in just 1.5 months is not bad at all. What i used to build this list is the call to action forms after each post and i appealed my reader at the end of the post to subscribe. This helped me a lot to build this list.

Also Read: How to Convert Visitors into Loyal Readers

Apart from this, I used content locker in "How to resolve section". If you are providing quality information then believe me your user will not hesitate to enter email id to access the resolution. My 55% of the email was from content locker.

9. Monetization

The very important step in online business, site monetization. Nobody will buy a site which generates nothing. My primary focus was on Google AdSense and affiliate marketing. AdSense was the major contributor of my earning from that site but as I sold the site just in 2 month so didn't receive any payment till that time (AdSense release payment after 20th of every month). I entered the AdSense code after 15 days since the time blog was live.

10. Sold the site for $400 in 2 months

Finally as my main aim was to test flipping that blog and earn money so I put the blog for sell and in 5 days found a buyer and we finalized on $400. This was not a bad deal at all considering the time and money i spent on the blog.

In total I spent $1.5 for a .com domain and $2 for hosting (2 months). So total I spent around $3.5 for that blog.

But still I think if I could have worked more and had not sold the blog too early then I might have received around $1k. Below are few points that I want to mention depending upon my experience and if you want to do flipping you must read these.

learn from mistakes and grow

1. Post more articles. Posting 2-3 articles a week is not enough if your aim is just selling the site too fast.
2. Install Analytic from the first day as Buyers will ask you to add them in Analytics first.
3. Keep the proof of each earning no matter how small those are. You have to give proof to buyers.
4. Start collecting Email ids from the first day itself.
5. Make social profile for your blog. I made this mistake by not making any Facebook, Google+ pages.
6. Most importantly don't sell in just 2 months as I did. Take some time. I did because I wanted instant money.

Now it’s your turn!!

That's all. This was my journey for the first website flipping. I bought and sold many blogs after that and I love to do it. Currently I don't have any live blog but just few days ago I bought a new domain and now will start working on it. But this time I am planning to make it a long time blog but not sure I would be able to. Because each time I think to keep for long time but gets distracted in the half way and sell that :)

I would love to know about your experience about website flipping. Have you sold any? Please do let me know your experience/thought/suggestion in comment. Also, if you have any doubt in this feel free to ask.

Do You Have These 5 Important Things in Your Blog Content?

By Ashutosh Jha → Wednesday, January 3, 2018
In blogging, we often listen “Content is the king”. Now, a novice blogger would like to know what good content is. When one can say that the blog has good content in it.

If you know what is good content then next obvious thing that you would like to know is, how do you create it?

As a matter of fact, everyone can start blogging but only a few bloggers could create good content on a regular basis. Creating good content is not a science but it is an art.

You have to master this art over a long period of time.

Importance of Good Content

Those days are gone when webmasters use to put 7 to 8 pages on their website and started earning in 2-3 weeks. Now things have changed drastically. Google is not going to appreciate any content which is NOT unique and of high quality.

If you want to establish yourself as a successful blogger or webmaster then you have to create good content. There is no shortcut to it. Just forget about things like SEO or other tricks.

There is no replacement for the good content. In fact, all the top websites and web journals like Mashable, Tech Crunch, and Huffington Post etc. are popular among their readers only because of good content.

If above-mentioned websites, stop creating good content then they may not survive in the competition and eventually lose their loyal readership.

5 Things You Should Have in Your Blog Content

You might have read thousands of articles on the Internet regarding blog content. You will come across many so-called blogging experts or gurus, who are telling you about creating good content.

You cannot create good content by just listening to these experts or gurus. Firstly, you need to read as many as top bloggers. By reading these bloggers you get to know how they are writing and more importantly, what they are writing.

After that, you need to write yourself. You will learn only when you start writing. Hence, after sometimes you can also create good content just like any other top bloggers on the internet.

However, you need to keep following 5 things in your mind before you start creating good content.

1. Fresh and Unique Content

The first point regarding blog content I want to make is that it should be fresh and unique.

If you think, you can copy content from websites like Mashable or Tech Crunch and rewrite that copied content then it is not going to work. Actually, blogging does not work like this.

You need to create content which is new and available on daily basis. If you are unable to create original and fresh content then you are bound to fail as a blogger.

The best way to overcome this challenge is to write more and more.

Hence create content which is unique and fresh.

2. Relevancy of Content to the Contemporary World

Next thing that you have to keep in mind is the relevancy of the content you are writing. What does it mean by relevancy?

Let me here differentiate between blog content and an essay.

The blog is not like an essay where you can write anything. The blog must have some relevant content that can relate to its reader, unlike an essay which is very stale.

In blogging, your content should relate to the state of affairs prevailing in your country and around the world. Thus, every day’s blog post must reflect what is going on around you.

However, on the other hand, an essay is quite monotonous.

Hence blog content must be relevant to the current state of affairs. You cannot blog, living in a vacuum.

3. Dynamism – Videos and Infographics

In the third point, I will build upon my previous argument. As I said earlier blog must not be like an essay. Hence, it must be dynamic. And to make dynamic you need to incorporate certain mediums that can communicate to its readers.

The Just plain text is not going to make a blog, dynamic. Therefore, include relevant videos. In fact, video blogging is in itself another area. But here, we are not at all, talking about video blogging.

So moving on to the topic, your videos must be relevant to the content you are writing.

Secondly, you should try to incorporate infographics. In past few years, infographics have become a powerful tool for bloggers. Although initially, you need to learn about it, but later on, it could be very rewarding.

4. Forums, Groups, and Discussion Boards

Creating good content and presenting it is just half of the story. A blog is incomplete unless you are able to generate an intense debate on it.

How would you come to know that what you have written is liked by the people? The only way to know this is through reading people’s comments.

So, your every blog post must generate debate and discussions among your readers. Visitors who read your posts must comment and leave their reaction. In return, you should also reply and build a conversation with your readers back and forth.

Hence, a blog content must have comments and reactions by it readers.

5. Integration of all Tools & Plug-Ins in the Content to Go Viral

After you have created content and generated a lot of debate & discussion now it is time to use some technology. Your content or the blog post must go viral all over the internet.

Going viral means you should receive a great deal of traffic (readers) for a particular blog post. So how will your content go viral?

You need to get traffic from all possible sources.

Social Media – You must bring in visitors to your blog via Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube etc. Create pages on all these sites with the brand name of your blog & updates on regular basis.

Bookmarking – There are dozens of popular bookmarking sites like Stumble Upon, Digg etc. People must like your content and bookmark to these websites.

Ad placement- Don’t make the mistake of placing too many AdSense ads or ads from another network on your site. Follow the blogs like Google AdSense Official Blog, if you want to make money with AdSense.

RSS & Feeds – People must subscribe you through feeds & RSS or even by newsletter. If you have some budget, you can go for Aweber which has great features.

In every blog post, integrate all the necessary plug-ins and code snippets to pull a lot of traffic to your content.

Conclusion

Finally, I will conclude by saying your blog would only be successful if you incorporate above mentioned 5 key ingredients into your content.

Hence, start working on them. What do you think?
